March 20, 2008

It's making a major comeback.

Danish-designed teak and rosewood furniture.

People love the simple, clean designs and it is a perfect fit for that condo, townhouse or home.

Now Western Canada's largest importer of teak and rosewood is continuing with its major sale.

...by Design has extended its 40 per cent off sale until the end of the month.

The company is celebrating 40 years of being in business in Vancouver.

And they just received a new shipment of great teak and rosewood furniture from Denmark.

So here is your chance - get something that looks great and get it at great prices.

And there is more.

If you want antique furniture, they have that too.

Their other company, Sugar Barrel Antitques also has a 40 per cent sale.

Both stores are on Main Street and operate out of one location.

Check out some of their rosewood and teak furniture.

Great Original Art For As Little As $40 Or Less

inuit.jpg

Looking for some great original inexpensive art.

Here is your chance.

We're talking about native and Inuit art for as little as $40 to $80.

Next Wednesday, Maynard's is having an auction on Northwest Coast native and Inuit art.

This is a great opportunity to get some terrific art at bargain-basement prices.

Their catalogue lists all the items and what prices they think they will fetch.

Two things to remember.

The estimated prices can go higher but they can also go lower and often that is the case, especially on the smaller and lower price estimates.

Going the auction route as a rule will save you at least 50 per cent, when compared with retail rpices.

But more than often it is much larger than that, especially on the lower estimates.

As well as your final bid price there is a 10 per cent premium, which goes to the auction house.

See what's being offered.

Excellent Fresh Fish - Great Deals

stevestondocks.jpg

Fresh fish.

It's a great treat to cook with.

But most fish is quite expensive these days.

But there still is a way of getting a great deal on fresh fish.

Go to the Steveston fish docks.

Fishermen offer their catch on most days and the prices are as much as 50 per cent below retail.

There is one catch though. If you buy fish other than shrimps you have to buy the whole fish.

We have provided a link that gives you more information about what's what at the docks in Steveston.

In the past the Steveston Harbour website through their catch of the day listing told you what fresh fish was being offered for sale.

But that seems to have fallen by the wayside.

However, here is a number you can call and they will tell you what is available. Just make sure you call during regular business hours, Monday through Friday.

604-272-5539.

We went last week and they had salmon, tuna, shrimps and cod for sale.
